چکیده
Abstract Background Poor sleep quality and disorders are more prevalent in individuals with multiple sclerosis (MS) than the general population. has been correlated worse MS outcomes. Sleep efficiency (SE) is one of most sensitive markers quality. There very little written about SE other polysomnography (PSG) parameters measures. Methods This a retrospective review 280 consecutive evaluated by PSGs standardized measures over 13 years at comprehensive center. In addition, cohort was assessed 2 fatigue scales, Epworth Sleepiness Scale, Expanded Disability Status Scale. A comparison means test (independent t test) r, or correlation coefficient, were used. Results The PSG Total Time significantly different between group disease duration 5 vs less then equal to years. Prevalence obstructive apnea 63%, higher reported literature while prevalence moderate severe 33.4%, which lower reported. Conclusions Longer as well disability correlate measured SE.

Background: Identifying the predictors of pain is important for both health professionals and researchers, because pain has repeatedly been found to be a strong predictor of activity limitations and participation restrictions. The objective of this study was to determine the predictors of pain presence and severity in a large, well-designed sample of community dwelling individuals with multip...

OBJECTIVE The aim of this study was to evaluate the association between different disability states in patients with multiple sclerosis (MS) as determined by the expanded disability status scale (EDSS) and dental-periodontal measures. SUBJECTS AND METHODS Eighty patients with MS (64 females and 16 males) were included in this study. Data on MS types, attack frequency, disease duration, EDSS s...

متن کاملDisability status and quality of life in multiple sclerosis: non-linearity of the Expanded Disability Status Scale (EDSS)
BACKGROUND Progression in disability as measured by increase in the Expanded Disability Status Scale (EDSS) is commonly used as outcome variable in clinical trials concerning multiple sclerosis (MS). In this study, we addressed the question, whether there is a linear relationship between disability status and health related quality of life (HRQOL) in MS. METHODS 7305 MS patients were sent a q...
